Boost your confidence by wearing the right colours for YOU I couldn’t help but notice when five of my friends recently started looking especially radiant and gorgeous. Leanne (wearing blue) is one; Janine (in the orange) is another. The difference was so extreme; I suspected makeovers or some new chemical peel.
It turned out to be the painless option. . . Knowing she was responsible for my friends’ transformations, it wasn’t long before I too booked a colour analysis session with Louise from Colourmebeautiful in Dubai. Everyone who has seen me since has commented on the difference. As for me, I have never felt happier in my own skin. Interestingly, colours I would never have worn before such as rich mahogany, tomato red and pumpkin, have turned out to be my WOW colours! Amazed at how the experience supercharged my self confidence, I now firmly believe that every woman should be aware of how wearing the right colours enhances self image. During the consultation Louise explained why certain shades complement my natural colouring more than others. She also showed me the right shades of foundation, lipstick and blusher to wear, and then identified my dominant colouring by draping various colour swatches against my face. Afterwards she picked out my best neutral colours and discussed why they are a good choice for wardrobe staples like suits, jackets and trousers. She then explained how accent colours can ad drama and why gold jewellery is the better option for me. After the session ended I walked off with a palette of suitable make-up shades, and a personalised wallet containing 42 fabric swatches and colour combination tips for future shopping trips. This has made make-up and clothes shopping a whole lot easier for me. Not to mention choosing the right colours at the hairdresser. All of the women I know who have been through the Colourmebeautiful experience with Louise have been thrilled with the results and agree that she has radically changed their lives for the good. Leanne, who has recently overcome cancer, had this to say: My luxurious long blond blanket of hair was replaced by very foreign looking short dark curls. I put on a bunch of very unwelcome weight. My body bore ugly new scars. My hormone production ceased completely and then fired up again in horrid adolescent splutters. And let’s not mention the constant tenderness and sometimes, even pain, in my disfigured breast. Part of me believed my femininity was dead and buried, never to be resurrected again. To make matters worse I heard this tape in my head that said “Leanne, how dare you complain about this. You should be grateful you so narrowly escaped death.” You can just imagine the devastating effect this kind of thinking has on relationships – especially your most intimate ones. Feeling completely unlovely, I found myself not believing my husband’s declarations of my beauty. Instead his every tender touch reminded me of my broken body which in turn reminded me of the disease that had stolen so much. Beauty invites intimacy. When something is beautiful you want to get close to it. But when you don’t feel beautiful you want to hide, and not get too close to anyone. This is where Louise entered the picture for me. A friend of mine had been transformed a year or so before and she had told me about the experience but, to be honest I did not take much notice. I felt beyond help. Then she invited Louise to speak at our ladies group and before I knew it, some friends had clubbed in for me to go and have a session with her. Here is an extract from a letter I wrote to Louise after she had finished working her magic: “How can I ever thank you for what you have done in my life? How does one measure emotional healing? How do you describe the rejuvenation of a part of one’s identity that seemed to have died? God has used the amazing gifts and talents He placed in you when He knitted you together in your mother’s womb to put the pieces of this damaged self-image together again. Louise, you’ve left your delightful mark all over the new-and-improved Leanne! Do you know that the morning after our shopping spree, I woke up ravenously greedy for more! I felt like I wanted to go out immediately and do it all over again. For a while I thought you had converted me into the shopper I never was, but then I went shopping with my 16-year-old daughter only to find that the magic of the experience left when you walked away. That’s what you do, my friend. You breathe life into the mundane, the tedious, and the emotionally painful. It is the magic of Louise’s skilled hand sweeping away the cinders and making us ladies feel like the princesses we know we’re born to be. A thousand thank-yous forever and ever!” To find out if there is a colourmebeautiful consultant in your area visit www.colourmebeautiful.co.uk To contact Louise Wrankmore in Dubai please call her on 050 265 4295.
